Coronavirus Update – Hub Closed

Due to the coronavirus we feel it is prudent to make the following decisions:
  • The Heritage Hub and research rooms will be closed with immediate effect, and will remain so until further notice.
  • Regarding our joint talks with Sittingbourne Heritage Museum, we plan to suspend our talks from immediate effect till the end of April.
  • The Archive will continue to be produced each month, and will be sent out electronically. Those who have paid for postage will still continue to receive it by post. Those who currently collect their Archive at The Hub or at Talks, will be distributed via email. You will still be able to collect your paper copy of The Archive in a few months time.
  • The Archaeological Field Unit steering group will discuss whether the April Dig dates will go ahead…but Nigel Macpherson-Grant has notified us that he is unavailable for 29th March due to work commitments. This session has therefore also been postponed. Date to be rearranged.
We will review the situation as the news allows us to.
We have made this decision as a precaution to protect our volunteers, members, visitors and family members to help keep us all safe and as healthy as possible.

History is the glue that holds communities together….so let’s hang in there!

Keep safe…

Thank you to all NHS and support workers!”
