Description
Swale Remembers – One Hundred Stories of Those who Served and Died, One Hundred Years Ago; and the Faces of Many More.
Have you ever wondered what those who died in the First World War were really like? Were they so very different to us? Was going to fight the first time they had been abroad? What did they actually do to be awarded a medal? Did they all die in big battles? How were their families affected?
This book will answer those questions, and many more. By revealing their hidden histories, it brings us closer to the men and women of Swale who died for their country 100 years ago.
Those included are just a few of those who: are remembered on local memorials; buried in local cemeteries; were born, lived or died in the area; or had family members who lived in Swale.
