HRGS attend Royal Garden Party – 25 May 2022

What better occasion than the in the Queen’s Jubilee year for Theresa and Richard Emmett (Chair of HRGS) to visit Buckingham Palace!

They were thrilled to have been invited to a Queen’s Garden Party at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday 25th May and to represent HRGS.

Their invitation was related to HRGS being awarded a Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service (QAVS) in June 2020, and obviously, because of the Covid situation, the garden parties had been cancelled for two years and have just resumed this year.

Despite the occasional showers the sun did shine through, Theresa and Richard had a very enjoyable and memorable afternoon at Buckingham Palace and dressed up for the occasion.

The afternoon tea was lovely, and they had the opportunity to meet and speak with Professor Brian Cox, who was also one of the guests.

It was a wonderful opportunity for them to mingle with so many people who were equally delighted to be in the presence of the Royal Family.

HRH Prince William was representing his grandmother The Queen, who was unable to attend. Prince William was accompanied by his wife Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, his uncle HRH Prince Edward and Sophie, the Duke and Duchess of Wessex and his cousin HRH Princess Beatrice.
