Jean’s talk will explain how the Manorial Court came into being following the Norman Conquest. It required the Lord of the Manor to provide a Court for his tenants and were the lowest form of in the Country. The Lord of the Manor held jurisdiction and would preside over the Hearings, supported by his Chairman and a record would be written in the Manorial Rolls.
