Richard’s illustrated talk will explore the growth of Sittingbourne as a town through the ages; from the offering of hospitality to Pilgrims to visits by Royalty.  It will also look the towns agricultural and industrial growth in the modern era, particularly having the largest paper mill in the world at the turn of the 19th century… stories that put the North Kent market town of Sittingbourne on the map.
