168 - John Northwode and Wife: 1496 - An example of the Tabard worn over the armour, which is similar to that on page 25, figure No.2.  The sword hangs behind the legs.  The Lady's dress is that usually worn at this period.

169 - Knight of the Northwode Family about 1480.  Having tuilles, elbow pieces and genouillieres of extravagant size, the latter have overlapping plates to guard teh joints behind; pauldrons with their shoulder ridges, and gauntlets.  The sword is girded in front, crossing from right to left.
