SIR, Borden, near Sittingbourne, Jan. 12, 1798.

Ever since I was twenty years of age, I have been afflicted with a very violent Rheumatic Gout, which occasioned the most excruciating flying pains, and swellings of a pale colour in my knees, ancles, and joints of my fingers.  During 30 years pain and misery, I have had the best advice, tried all kinds of Medicines, Sea-bathing, and Bath Waters; but all proved inaffectual.  Thank God, I lately heard of your WHITEHEAD'S ESSENCE of MUSTARD, which has afforded me the most wonderful relief, the swellings are all removed, my pains are entirely gone, and to you (under God) I am indebted for a most astonishing and complete cure.  Yours sincerely,

S. GIBBS,
