This is the last will and testament of me Valentine Simpson of Bobbing Court in the parish of Bobbing in the County of Kent Esquire I direct my remains to be interred in my vault in the Church of Bobbing ??? and as to such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me I dispose thereof as followeth I give and bequeath unto my son George and my sister in law Mary Hopper seventy pounds each for mourning to be paid within one calendar month next after my decease   Also I give and bequeath unto my sister in law Mary Hopper and her assigns for and during the ?? of her natural life one annuity or near yearly sum of two hundred pounds sterling to be paid to her by four equal quarterly payments on the sixth day of January the sixth day of April the sixth day of July and the eleventh day of October in each and every year and the first payment thereof to begin and be made on each of the said days as shall happen next after my decease and for the due and punctual payment of the said annuity on the several days aforesaid I do hereby charge and make liable all my real and personal estate and effects I give and bequeath unto my dear wife Sarah all and every my household goods furniture plate linen china books pictures wines liquors ready monies in the public stocks or funds debts and securities for money and all and singular other my goods chattels and personal property estate and effects of every nature and f??d whatsoever to hold the same and every part and parcel thereof unto my said wife her exectutors administrators adn assigns to and for her and their own absolute use and benefit for ever and as to all those my estates called Bobbing Court and the parsonage land ???at tythes and woodlands thereunto belonging and all other my messuages lands tenements and hereditaments situate lying and being in the parishes of Bobbing aforesaid and Milton or one of them in the County of Kent and all that my Estate called Key Street Ffarm with the appurtenances thereunto belonging situate in the parishes of Bobbing aforesaid and Newington or one of them in the said County of Kent and all my estate and interest therein and also all that my estate called Westlands situate lying and being in teh parish of Milton aforesaid and Borden or one of them in the said County of Kent with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging and all my estate right title t?an and interest of and in the same respectively and also all that my advowson of Bobbing aforesaid and all those my Manors of Bobbign Allington? and Bobmonton or such of the said powers as I have  the power to dispose of on?? all the rights royalties members and appurtenances ???? unto belonging situate lying and being in the said parishes of Bobbing and Newington and all and singular other my freehold leasehold and copyhold messuages lands tenements tythes and hereditaments whatsoever and wheresoever whereof I now am or at the time of my decease may be seized or possessed or whereof I now am or may be entitled situtate lying and being in teh several parishes aforesaid or in any or either of them or elsewhere in the Kingdom of Great Britain to hold the same and every part and parcel thereof unto my said wife Sarah her heirs executors and administrators respively [sic] to and for her and their own absolute use and benefit and I do hereby expressly ??riar? that in making the aforegoing disposition of my estate and effects unto my said wife I do so under the fullest confidence and conviction that in case she survives me she will after my decease make such disposition thereof to my son George and to my grandson Valentine Simpson son of my deceased son Valentine Simpson as shall be just and equitable and I do hereby nominate and appoint my said wife sole executrix of this my last will and testament contained in two sheets of paper to the first sheet thereof set my hand and to this second and last sheet thereof set and affixed my hand and seal this sixteenth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty three ---- Valentine Simpson (LS) ---- signed sealed published declared by the said Valentine Simpson the testator as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses ---- Thos Folley Gent.  of Bobbing ---- Mary Martha Folley ---- Thomas Knowles of Sittingbourne ---- ?umbert Grazier

 

This is a codicil to the last will and testament of Valentine Simpson of Bobbing Court in the County of Kent Esquire whereas in and by my said will after giving certain ?egari? and a certain animity as therein mentioned I have given and bequeathed unto my dear wife Sarah Simpson to and for her own use and benefit all my goods chattels and personal property estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever and have also by my said will given and devised unto my said wife her heirs executors and administrators respectively to and for her and their own absolute use and benefit a certain advowson and certain messuages farms lands and hereditaments therein particularly mentioned and also all and singular other my freehold leasehold and copyhold messuages lands tenements tythes and hereditaments whatsoever and wheresoever whereof I may die seized or possessed or cohereunto I may be entitled at the time of my death and every part and parcel thereof with their and every of their appurtenances shall subject to the annuity given by my sons will go to and be held and enjoyed by my dear son George Simpson his heir executors administrators respectively according to the natures and qualities of my said property estate and effects and in the event of my said wife so dying in my life time I do hereby give devise and bequeath all and singular my said personal property estate and effects and all and every my said Manors messuages lands tenements advowsons tythes and hereditaments unto and to the use of my said son George Simpson his heirs executors administrators and assigns respectively to and for his and their own absolute use and benefit for ever accordingly and in case my said wife shall so die in my life time I do hereby appoint my said son to be sole executor of my said will and codicil in witness whereof I the said Valentine Simpson the testator have to this codicil set and affixed my hand and seal  the fourteenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty one ---- V Simpson (LS) ---- signed sealed published and declared by the said Valentine Simpson the testator as and for a codicil to his last will and testament in the presence of us who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed oru names as witnesses ---- Willm Castle Surgeon Sittingbourne ---- John Woodruff Curate of Upchurch ---- Thomas Knight Fermer at Sittingbourne

 

This is a codicil ot the last will an dtestament of me Valentine Simpson of Bobbing Court in the parish of Bobbing in the county of Kent Esquire whereas in and by my will bearing date on or about the sixteenth day of August one thousand eight hundred and twenty three and acodicil thereto bearing date on or about the fourteenth day of May now last past I have given devised and bequeathed all and every my freehold household and copyhold messuages lands tenements tythes and hereditaments whatsoever and wheresoever in such manner as by my said will and codicil is particularly expressed and whereas since the date and execution of my said codicil I have bought and purchased of and from my grandson Valentine Bennett Simpson and the surviving devises? in trust under will of his late father Valentine Simpson deceased four pieces or parcels of meadow or pasture of land commonly called or known ???? ???? name of the town meadows otherwise the town meads and containing by estamation [sic] twenty four acres more or less situate in the parish of Milton near Sittingoburne in the said county of Kent ???? in order that the said lands so by me purchased may pass under my said will and codicil in the same manner as if I had been seized thereof at the time of making and executing the same respectively I the said testator Valentine Simpson do hereby republish my said will and codicil respectively and do hereby direct and declare that the said several pieces or parcels of land and premises so by me purchased shall go to and be had hold and enjoyed by the same person or persons and in such and the same way and manner in all respects as the freehold messuages lands tenements and hereditaments of which I was seized or whereto I was entitled at the time of making and executing my said and codicil respectively and I do hereby give and devise the same accordingly in witness whereof I the said Valentine Simpson the testator ???? to this writing which I direct may be ??ued and taken to be a codicil to my said will set and affixed my hand and  and seal this thwenty [sic] fourth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty one ---- V Simpson (LS) ---- signed sealed published and declared by the said Valentine Simpson the testator as and for a codicil his last will and testament in the presence of us who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses ---- Willm Castle Surgeon Sittingbourne ---- Thomas Knight Farmer Bobbing ----- John Tanton? Proved at london with 2 codls. 2nd October 1832 before the judge by the oath of Sarah Simpson widow the ???? the sole executrix to whom ad??on was granted having been first sworn by comon duly to administer
